For parents of 9th through 11th grade students

Join Gail Grand, Independent Educational Consultant and founder of The College Advisor, Inc., as she uses her 22 years of college counseling experience to unravel the mystery behind the college search and application process. College Unraveled focuses on the ways parents of ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade students can best assist their children in making future educational plans.

Presented as a series of four parent workshops, each 1 ½ hour-long session concentrates on a vital part of the process. Group size is limited to provide lots of opportunities for questions. The program sessions include:

  1. Options in Post-Secondary Education – College options, the realities of admissions today, selectivity, ways to help your child
  2. The College Search – Finding schools that fit, campus visits, crafting a college list
  3. The Application Process – How and when to apply, the parts of the application, how admissions decisions are made
  4. Paying for College – Scholarships and Financial Aid

The pilot for this series was recently presented for tenth grade parents at Chaminade College Preparatory School, West Hills, CA. 100% of the participants recommended this series to others. A few of their comments follow:

Thursday Evening Series

The February, 2012 series will be held at Chaminade College Preparatory School, 7500 Chaminade Avenue, West Hills, CA 91304. The workshops will be held in room 603 of Marian Hall on the upper campus, near the Bob Hope Center.  The fee for the 4-part series is $295 per family, payable in advance. Please register using the form below. Space is limited, so early registration is advised.
